The Journal of Clinical Investigation

The Journal of Clinical Investigation is a premier venue for critical advances in biomedical research, authoritative reviews, and commentaries that place research articles in context.

Published since 1924, the JCI is one of few high-profile journals committed to providing free online access to all of its articles immediately upon publication. The journal's entire archive from 1924 is now available — and all of it freely available online to anyone, anywhere in the world.

The JCI's 2003 Impact Factor is 14.307, which is but one indication of the relevance and importance of the work appearing in the journal. The JCI's Impact Factor places it above the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Blood, PNAS, and others, and the JCI is the third-ranked journal in its category (Medicine: Research and Experimental). The findings published in the JCI also have durable significance. The JCI currently publishes about 300 research articles annually. Authors who submit their work to the JCI can expect quick and fair review. Accepted manuscripts are published within six to eight weeks of acceptance, one of the fastest times to publication among top-tier journals.

The JCI's Editorial Board has been located at Columbia University since March 2002. Andrew Marks is the journal's Editor-in-Chief, and Ushma Savla, formerly with Nature Medicine, is Executive Editor.
