Job vacancy: Officer in charge of EU liaison and EU project management

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Liège has a strong tradition in high-quality biomedical research focusing on animal and human health, animal production and food safety. Its annual research budget is presently of the order of 12 million Euros. It seeks to expand its research portfolio by increasing its proportion of EU-derived funding.
To that end, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Liège seeks to hire an officer whose task will be (i) to manage ongoing EU research projects at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, (ii) to coordinate and organize the submission of new research projects to the EU, and (iii) to organize scientific events at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine aimed at promoting interdepartmental synergies.
The successful candidate will hold at least a DVM, MD or PhD degree and have experience in biomedical research. (S)He will have excellent written and oral communication as well as inter-personal skills. (S)He will be fluent in English. (S)He will have thorough experience in the use of Microsoft Office products. A post-doctoral research experience, experience in the field of genomics and/or experience in project management will be to the advantage of the candidate.
The position, funded by the Eadgene European Network of Excellence, is immediately available for a duration of 24 months, with possibilities for later extensions.
